Tattoo Convention Deauville France 2017
Kamila Burzymowska, a wonderful Polish friend of ours, visited the 2017 Tattoo Convention located in Deauville, France. She brought home some amazing and awe-inspiring pictures for you to check out! From pictures of the wonderful crowd to wonderful artists and even to award-winning tattoos received at the event, these pictures give an intimate look into our inked world! You can find the full gallery of over 500 pictures in our Tattoo Convention Pinterest Album! She also collected beautiful and professional pictures from many other conventions across Europe. But, for now, let’s check out the stories she brought home from Kraków!
The Deauville Tattoo Festival graced this world in the very same place that held an American Film Festival and lasted through the 19th and 20th of August. It boasted an impressive attendance of over 12,000 tattoo lovers, but I am quite certain that more people than that snuck into the venue. During the two days, they celebrated everything involving the inked world.
250 Tattoo Artists Attended
Over 250 tattoo artists from around the world gathered to show off their skills, including world-famous artists like Aaron IS, Rudy Hetzer, Sarah Miller, and Ryan Smith. Every artist followed a unique and amazing path to get to the Deauville Tattoo Festival, and many of them were eager to share. On top of that, tons of venders, musicians, and entertainers gathered to make sure everyone had a good time. People were packed like sardines in the convention center.
They provided proof of their talent and experience at the end of each day. The Festival held a contest at the end of each night to see which brand new tattoos showed the most skill, creativity, dedication, and artistry of them all. You can see pictures of the spectacular tattoo winners throughout this article! My favorite is the fox and rabbit inked by Sandra Daukshta. Its lighting and colors just blow my mind.
Two Days Aren’t Enough
This convention far exceeded the expectations of artists and organizers alike. Due to its amazing success, they have already set a date for next year’s convention. It will once again be held in August, this time on the 17th, 18th, and 19th. Simply put, two days aren’t enough to experience the whole convention. If you don’t already have plans, mark it on your calendar right away! Even if you live in countries far away from Kraków, most of the attendees are in the same shoes as you. Organizers provide guidance for people of all backgrounds during the festival. The same organizers will also host the fourth annual Cezanna Tattoo Convention in Aix en Provence. The date for that convention is October 12th, 14th, and 15th, and I fully expect it to be just as spectacular!
Tattoo conventions show us the wonderful heart that goes into each and every tattoo. Clients pick and choose all kinds of styles and designs that shape the careers of artists. Without them, we would probably only have a selection of Sailor Jerry tattoos to pick! Then, the inspiring tattoo artists stretch their abilities to the limit. They make up the backbone of this world and constantly drive it to new horizons. Less known are the engineers, mechanics, chemists, and doctors who all continue to improve the quality of the tattoo experience. Thanks to their perseverance, tattoos are more accessible than ever!
We want to extend a huge thank you to Kamila Burzymowska for her jaw-droppings pictures and her detailed breakdown of the convention. We are looking forward to her next photojournalism journey into the tattoo world. She continues to provide amazing images at her official website. You can contact her via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram! If you or someone you know loves to visit tattoo conventions, please contact us for an opportunity to show their wonderful work on the site!
